Indonesian English student Association is first established officially on October 8th-9th in Yogyakarta held by Universitas Gadjah mada. Started when one of the founder Nur Hayati Syafi’i has a dream to collect and unite all students of English language and literature, the first IESA first summit was held in UGM as a host, and resulted that IESA is an independent organization. The purpose in having an independent organization is to avoid jealously between each member that perhaps can create gaps between the organization’s committee and ordinary members.
IESA has an official group that you can search in this tag : Indonesian English student Association. This community is open to anyone who want to join under these requirements:
1. English Students all over Indonesia
2. Listed in the group of Indonesian English students Association
3. Hopefully, join at least one meeting of IESA
Indonesian English students association is created to facilitate and gives place for sharing new ideas on how to develop Indonesia through a community. The schedule of Indonesian English students association is not yet as busy as other community but we have a summit every year.
With more than 500 members of English students, in hope this community can possibly gives benefit for a better Indonesia. The alumni will always be noted to watch this community and give evaluation each year. Therefore, the interconnection between alumni and new members will always be protected.
This community is a non-profit-organization that will burden the members, but asking a contribution also to share their research on their final paper to avoid plagiarism through a website. The website will be soon published and hopefully, we can gather our communication in the internet or in reality. Don’t miss it! Join us, and let’s share. Indonesian English student association will give you lots of information about scholarships, linkages, broaden your literature review, friends, and thoughts.
And this year, right on 12th - 14th October, all Civitas Academica pointed on Brawijaya University as the holder of the IESA 2nd Summit 2012.There were Sharing and Open Discussion, comparative study, English National Seminar with U.S. Consulate General, AMINEF, and American Corner, and there was Art Show by East Java Artists.

PR Consulate General of the United States States (U.S. Consulate General) in Surabaya, Andrew M Veveiros introduced the culture of his country to the hundreds of IESA students in Hall Rector. Saturday (13/10).
"Culture is the real American public television. Many television programs that we know, like Oprah Winfrey, Desperate Housewife, The Simpson, and much more, "said Andrew.

And next year, without no doubt, the 3rd Summit of IESA will be held on UNJ. It is such an honor, we as the civitas academica of ED UNJ will be proud to contribute to this event. Let's show them that we can! :)
