3 Days To Remember from Sawarna Beach

The final test was officially ended and it was a perfect time to refresh and relax our bodies by having a vacation together. Therefore, we chose Sawarna Beach as our destination in BROS (Bring Education Among Us) this year. As we can see from the title, BROS 2015 wasn’t only about having fun on the beach but we also got a new experience by sharing English education with some children in SDN 03 Sawarna, Banten. This annual event is presented for everyone in English Department and was joined this year by many EDrs including Mrs Atikah, our lecturer who also took a part in BROS 2015.
3 buses which would drive us to our destination were already parked in the campus on Friday, June 12th 2015 at 8 am in the morning. Every participants took care of their luggages until the chief of BROS 2015, Arief, officially opened the event which was a sign that BROS 2015 had started and everyone could get on the bus to begin the vacation. It was a long journey until we finally reached the location of Sawarna Beach in the midnight which made all the participants should get some rest in the cottages to prepare for tomorrow activities.
On June 13th, we woke up at 04.30 to pray and eat breakfast. Each participants also prepared their green jackets to go for a microteaching agenda this morning. As already mentioned, SDN 03 Sawarna was a school where we got a new experience by teaching English education to some elementary students there. All the participants were divided into some groups to teach some English words in a fun way for children such as about animals, body parts, and many more.
When the sun rose up until its highest spot, we had to go back to the cottage in the afternoon to take a lunch before the theatre workshop which was noted in our agenda was about to start. The theatre workshop was presented by TED (Theatre of English Department) and was joined by all the participants. TED shared their experiences in performing theatre on the stage and they also taught us how to  jump into another character by acting. The participants once again were divided into some groups and they were asked to do a mini theatre performance. At the end of the program, Aldo Bella was chosen as the best character for his entertaining appearance.
After attending the theatre workshop, all the participants went to the beach to relax their selves while waiting for the beautiful sunset. The committees had prepared some games and sport activities such as volleyball, bakiak competition, and tarik tambang. There were some people who chose to play sports, some chose to play in the sea, and others were circled in the BROS photobooth to take some memories together until finally the sky turned dark and they had to go back to the cottage.
The bonfire had lighted up the night and everyone gathered in a circle to do a chill-out session with Sylvani and Aldo as the hosts. There was a funny puppet show which was entertained all the participants and the seniors finally took a place to host a sharing session. Their shared their experiences of being an English Department student while we enjoyed the delicious grilled sausages together. When the sky got even darker, we let the red lanterns flied away and created a beautiful view to end our night.

In the morning of June 14th, before going back to UNJ, the committees had prepared a video presentation about their memories and experiences together in the last 3 days. We took few hour in the bus until we finally got back in the campus with an unforgettable experience and a great impression. BROS 2015 didn’t only give us a fun memory of being together, but also a lesson and a precious experience about how we should share an education to other people.
